For example, comparing the A100 and H100, the H100’s process improved from 7nm to 4nm, with SM count rising from 108 to 132, and the numbers of FP64 and FP32 CUDA Cores increasing significantly from 3,456 and 6,912 to 8,448 and 16,896 respectively. The advanced 4nm process in the H100 also increases the GPU core frequency, further boosting computational speed.

By FY2025, quarterly sales were hitting new records (e.g. $39.3B in Q4 FY25) and full-year revenue more than doubled the previous peak.

Using this range yields more tempered growth rates, under the assumption that growth will moderate from the recent unprecedented levels as the company’s base becomes larger.

CAGR is justified here because NVIDIA’s annual results have fluctuated dramatically; a single-year growth rate could be misleading. For example, revenue grew 126% then 114% in the last two years, but it’s unrealistic to assume >100% growth will continue every year. A multi-year CAGR (in this case, ~49.4% for revenue over FY2019–FY2025) provides a balanced rate that reflects Nvidia’s strong upward trajectory while accounting for the possibility of slower growth in some years. This approach effectively reverts growth toward a long-term mean, acknowledging that the recent explosive expansion may level off. It’s important to note that even this “tempered” CAGR of ~49% is very high by most standards – it highlights how exceptional NVIDIA’s growth has been over the period considered.

Projected FY2026 Results: Applying the CAGR to FY2025 actual results, we project FY2026 revenue of roughly $195 billion (about +49% YoY from $130.5B). This implies continued robust growth, though at less than half the FY2025 growth rate – a realistic deceleration as the base revenue climbs into the hundreds of billions. For profitability, if NVIDIA can maintain its current high margins and scale operating costs similarly, gross profit could reach ~$151B and operating income ~$136B in FY2026. Net income is forecast around $117.5 billion, and EPS around $4.73 (assuming the share count continues to slightly decline with buybacks). These projections correspond to ~61% YoY growth in net income and EPS for FY2026 – again, a very strong increase, but much lower than the 145% jump in FY2025, indicating more normalized growth.

It’s worth emphasizing that these figures are mechanical projections based on past averages. Real-world outcomes could differ. Indeed, NVIDIA’s management has indicated growth is likely to continue but at a moderating pace. For instance, they forecast approximately 65% YoY growth in revenue for Q1 of FY2026, which aligns with our overall trajectory for the full year (our 49% full-year assumption accounts for possibly higher Q1 and then some tapering). The CAGR method is appropriate here given the lack of specific long-term guidance; it provides a reasonable baseline if current trends persist. We assume NVIDIA will sustain high demand for its AI platforms, but we also acknowledge the company faces a higher bar in absolute dollars each year. Our projections anticipate continued growth driven by AI adoption, but at growth rates closer to the historical average of the past half-decade rather than the singular spike of the past two years.

R&D and SG&A expenses did rise (GAAP R&D was ~$12.9B in FY2025, up 49% YoY, reflecting heavy investment in talent and development of new chips), but this increase was modest compared to revenue gains. The company achieved significant operating leverage, meaning each incremental dollar of revenue brought a higher contribution to profit. For example, the GAAP operating expense ratio fell substantially in FY2025, and GAAP operating margin surpassed 60%. NVIDIA’s strategy of focusing on high-value, high-volume products (like data center GPUs) helped here – the cost to design a chip is fixed, but selling huge volumes dramatically boosts returns on that R&D investment. Going forward, maintaining this discipline (investing strategically in key projects while avoiding unsustainably fast expense growth) will be a driver of continued strong earnings.
  • Market Diversification and Emerging Opportunities: While data center AI is the core growth engine, NVIDIA is also pushing into new markets. Trends and Performance (FY2023–FY2025):

NVIDIA’s balance sheet has expanded dramatically in conjunction with its income growth. Total assets nearly doubled two years in a row: from $41.2B in FY2023 to $65.7B in FY2024 (+59%), and then to $111.6B in FY2025 (+70% YoY). This growth was largely driven by the accumulation of cash and short-term investments, as well as surges in working capital assets tied to the booming sales. Cash and equivalents (including highly liquid investments) rose to $43.21B by the end of FY2025, up 66% from $26.0B a year prior and more than triple the level two years prior. This reflects the massive cash generation from operations (discussed in the Cash Flow section) – despite significant cash outlays for acquisitions and share buybacks, NVIDIA’s cash pile reached an all-time high. The company’s liquidity is extremely strong, with over $43B in cash on hand versus $18.0B in current liabilities at FY2025 (a current ratio of 4.4x).

Working capital details: Accounts receivable (A/R) jumped to $23.09B at FY2025, a 131% increase from FY2024. This spike in A/R correlates with the record revenue in the final quarter – many sales booked in Q4 (especially large data center orders) had not yet converted to cash by year-end, resulting in a large receivables balance. Inventories also nearly doubled to $10.08B (+91% YoY). This inventory build indicates NVIDIA ramped up production (or built buffer stock) in anticipation of ongoing strong demand; it may also include work-in-progress inventory for new products (like the upcoming Blackwell-based GPUs). While high inventory typically raises caution, in NVIDIA’s case it likely reflects strategic supply management to avoid shortages given the long lead times for advanced chips. The growth in current assets (+81% in FY2025) far outpaced current liabilities (+70%), further strengthening the company’s short-term financial position.

On the liabilities side, growth has been more moderate. Total liabilities were $32.27B at FY2025, up 42% from FY2024. Much of this increase came from current liabilities (such as accounts payable and accrued expenses) which grew alongside the business scale – for example, accounts payable rose as NVIDIA purchased more components to build its products (the cash flow statement shows accounts payable increased by $3.36B in FY2025). Notably, long-term debt remained almost unchanged at ~$8.46B. NVIDIA did not take on new debt in the past year and in fact had reduced its debt slightly in FY2024. This means the company’s huge expansion was funded internally, not by borrowing – a sign of financial strength. With debt stable and cash surging, NVIDIA moved to a net cash position well above $30B. Shareholders’ equity ballooned from $42.98B to $79.33B during FY2025 (+85% YoY). The main contributor was of course retained earnings, which climbed by $38.22B over the year (ending at $68.04B) thanks to the record $72.9B net profit minus distributions to shareholders. In FY2024, equity had already nearly doubled (+94%) for similar reasons (net income of $29.8B added to what was a relatively small starting equity base).

One remarkable aspect is that NVIDIA managed to grow equity strongly despite massive share buybacks. In FY2025, the company repurchased an astonishing $34.0 billion of its own stock (310 million shares), far more than the $9.7B bought back in FY2024. These buybacks directly reduce shareholders’ equity (as treasury stock), offsetting some of the retained earnings gains. Even so, retained earnings grew so much that equity still rose 85%. (If NVIDIA had not returned capital to shareholders at this scale, equity would have grown even more.) The book value per share increased significantly as well, reflecting the accumulation of earnings.

From a solvency perspective, NVIDIA’s balance sheet at FY2025 is very robust. The debt-to-equity ratio fell substantially with equity nearly doubling while debt stayed flat – long-term debt is now only ~11% of equity. The company’s assets are largely funded by equity (71% of assets were funded by equity at FY2025, up from 65% a year prior), indicating low leverage. This gives NVIDIA financial flexibility to invest or withstand downturns. The high cash balance and working capital also buffer against any short-term volatility (for example, if some receivables are delayed, NVIDIA has ample cash to operate). Overall, the sharp growth in both assets and equity underscores how NVIDIA’s record profits are being retained or reinvested into the business, strengthening the company’s financial foundation.

Projection Method and FY2026 Outlook:

For balance sheet projections, we again use the CAGR method to extend trends into FY2026. We projected total assets, total liabilities, and equity using the six-year CAGR (FY2019–FY2025). This yields an expected ~42% annual growth for both assets and equity, and a similar ~42% for liabilities. These growth rates mirror the internal funding dynamic: as profits compound (at ~61% historically for net income), roughly half has been retained (growing equity ~43% CAGR) and the rest used for buybacks (which slows equity growth relative to profits) or increases liabilities modestly (mainly through operational payables rather than new debt). Using CAGR for balance sheet items is a simplistic approach, but it provides a baseline assuming NVIDIA continues on its current trajectory of rapid expansion. The CAGR method is justified here because the balance sheet has grown roughly in proportion to the business scale – by averaging over multiple years, we account for both periods of slower growth (e.g. FY2020–2022) and the recent fast growth, rather than extrapolating the most recent 70% jump (which might overstate future assets).

Projected FY2026 Balance Sheet: Under these assumptions, total assets could reach approximately $159 billion by FY2026, up about 42% from FY2025. Such an increase would likely come from further accumulation of cash (if high profitability continues) and growth in working capital consistent with higher revenue. We project shareholders’ equity at roughly $113 billion, implying equity would grow by about $34B (+43%), which is in line with the projection of ~$117.5B in net income minus potential buybacks/dividends. Total liabilities might grow to around $45.8B (also +42%), primarily as a function of larger operational payables and accruals; we do not anticipate a need for significant new debt given NVIDIA’s cash generation. These projected levels would maintain NVIDIA’s solid financial ratios: the company would remain in a net cash position with minimal leverage. The cash balance specifically is projected to about $58 billion by FY2026. This assumes NVIDIA continues returning a portion of cash to shareholders (we factored a lower 34% CAGR for cash, since historically a lot of cash has been used for buybacks). If instead NVIDIA were to pause buybacks, cash could be even higher.

It’s important to note that balance sheet projections are more uncertain, as they depend on management’s capital allocation choices. For instance, NVIDIA has authorized a further $38.7B for share repurchases beyond FY2025. If the company executes more buybacks, equity growth will be lower and cash will be lower than projected (returning value to shareholders instead). Alternatively, if NVIDIA undertakes a large acquisition (as hinted by the nearly $15B acquisition-related outflow in FY2025), that could change the asset mix (e.g. more goodwill/intangibles). Our projection assumes a continuation of current policy: moderate dividend, aggressive buybacks, and no game-changing acquisitions – effectively, that organic growth is the main driver of the balance sheet. Under those conditions, NVIDIA’s FY2026 financial position should remain extremely strong, with ample liquidity and an equity-rich capital structure.

Key Drivers of Financial Position:

  • Profit Retention and Capital Allocation: NVIDIA’s surging profits have been the fundamental driver of its balance sheet expansion. Net income directly boosts retained earnings (and thus equity) when not paid out. Over FY2024–FY2025, NVIDIA generated $102.6B in combined earnings, of which a significant portion was kept in the company. The company’s capital allocation strategy has been to return some cash to shareholders via buybacks while retaining the rest to fund growth. In FY2025, about 46% of net income ($34B) went to share repurchases and a small dividend, while the remaining ~54% added to equity. This balance has allowed NVIDIA to reward shareholders and still vastly increase its cash reserves. Going forward, similar practices (e.g. continued buybacks authorized by the board, versus the need to invest in expansion) will influence the balance sheet. If profits continue to grow and NVIDIA maintains a relatively low dividend (currently just $0.04/share quarterly) and opportunistic repurchases, we can expect retained earnings (and cash) to keep climbing.
  • Working Capital Management: The large swings in receivables and inventories highlight NVIDIA’s working capital dynamics as a key factor. The FY2025 jump in A/R was tied to the late timing of big sales; this will convert to cash in early FY2026, boosting operating cash inflow. Inventory management is crucial for NVIDIA given the long production cycles for chips. The increase in inventory suggests management is strategically building stock to fulfill the enormous backlog of orders for AI GPUs. Industry trends (like supply chain lead times and potential chip export restrictions) also motivate holding more inventory. Efficient working capital management – aligning production with demand and managing customer payment terms – will be important to avoid buildup of excess stock or receivables issues. So far, NVIDIA appears to be handling this well: despite higher inventory, strong demand means the risk of obsolescence is low, and the company’s customers (often large enterprises) are reliable on payments, preserving asset quality.
  • Low Debt and Strong Solvency: NVIDIA’s choice to not incur new debt during its expansion is an internal decision that has kept the balance sheet low-leveraged. The industry trend in tech has been towards some borrowing due to low interest rates, but NVIDIA’s cash flow made debt unnecessary. By paying down some debt and letting equity grow, NVIDIA has improved its financial stability (a strategic buffer against any downturns). In FY2025, interest income on cash actually exceeded interest expense on debt, contributing positively to net income. This conservative balance sheet management is an internal strategy that gives NVIDIA the ability to raise funds easily in the future if needed, or to make acquisitions without straining finances. In essence, NVIDIA’s growth has been self-funded, which is a virtuous cycle – high profits fund further growth, which yields more profit. This driver will likely continue; NVIDIA’s management has indicated confidence in funding capital needs internally (e.g. through operating cash and existing cash balances).
  • Asset Composition – Investments and Acquisitions: Part of NVIDIA’s asset growth comes from strategic uses of cash, not just holding it. For example, “Other long-term assets” grew to $6.43B in FY2025 (from $4.5B), which likely includes pre-payments to suppliers (like foundry partner TSMC) and strategic investments. NVIDIA may invest in ventures or other companies (to strengthen its ecosystem, such as startups in AI software or complementary hardware). Additionally, NVIDIA has shown appetite for acquisitions (e.g. the $7B Mellanox acquisition in 2020, and a failed attempt to acquire ARM in 2021). In FY2025, there was a ~$14.9B cash outflow classified under acquisitions – while details aren’t confirmed in this report, such an outflow suggests a major investment or purchase (possibly a large prepayment or series of acquisitions of smaller firms). These actions are influenced by industry trends (for instance, securing supply chain capacity) and NVIDIA’s strategic aim to expand its technology portfolio. Such moves impact the balance sheet by converting cash into other assets (like goodwill, intangibles, or vendor advances). Going forward, if NVIDIA identifies critical technologies or needs (e.g. specialized AI software companies, networking technology firms), it may use its cash hoard for acquisitions. This could alter the mix of assets (increasing intangibles). However, given NVIDIA’s track record, any acquired assets are intended to enhance its competitive edge in growth markets (which in turn support future revenue).
  • Shareholder Equity Growth vs. Share Count: NVIDIA’s stock repurchases have an interesting dual effect: they decrease share count (benefiting per-share metrics like EPS) and simultaneously reduce shareholders’ equity (as cash is spent and treasury stock increases). In FY2024–25, management clearly prioritized buybacks (with $44B spent across the two years). This internal strategy of returning capital is driven by confidence in the business (excess cash not needed for operations) and perhaps the aim to improve return on equity metrics. The result is that book equity grew slightly less than it would have if all profits were retained, but the reduction in shares outstanding boosted EPS growth. For example, diluted shares went from ~24.94 billion to 24.80 billion in FY2025 (after the split adjustment), a modest drop that nonetheless contributes to higher EPS. This strategy is expected to continue (a $25B new buyback was announced in late FY2024, and an additional $50B authorized in FY2025’s second half). The key driver here is NVIDIA’s belief that investing in its own stock is a good use of funds given its strong cash flows. For the balance sheet, this means equity will not grow quite as fast as net income; for shareholders, it signals management’s optimism and provides ongoing support to the stock price. As long as NVIDIA’s core business generates cash at the current scale, this driver – capital return in the form of buybacks – will likely persist, effectively managing the growth of equity and keeping the balance sheet efficiently structured.

Trends and Performance (FY2023–FY2025):

Operating Cash Flow: NVIDIA’s cash flow from operating activities has skyrocketed in line with profitability. OCF was $64.09 billion in FY2025, up +128% from $28.09B in FY2024. This means the company generated over $64B of cash from its core operations in one year – an astounding figure, among the highest in the tech industry. The OCF increase is primarily driven by the surge in net income (since net income is the starting point for OCF). In FY2024, OCF jumped to $28.1B from just $5.64B in FY2023 (which was a weak cash flow year due to the earnings dip and some one-time charges). That’s a nearly five-fold increase (+398%) in OCF for FY2024, reflecting how quickly NVIDIA turned its fortunes once revenue rebounded. By FY2025, OCF more than doubled again. Over the two-year span, operating cash flow went from $5.6B to $64.1B – an over 11x increase, outpacing even the net income rise. This highlights NVIDIA’s excellent cash conversion: even with some profits tied up temporarily in working capital, the majority of earnings are being realized in cash.

It’s worth noting that working capital movements did impact OCF in FY2025. Despite net income of $72.9B, OCF was $64.1B (about $8.8B lower). The reason was significant cash outflows to support receivables and inventory growth. Specifically, NVIDIA’s accounts receivable increase ($13.06B usage of cash) and inventory build ($4.78B usage) together consumed nearly $18B in cash during FY2025. These were partially offset by increases in accounts payable and other liabilities ($+4.18B combined cash source). The net working capital change was roughly a $9.38B cash outflow in FY2025. In contrast, FY2024 saw about a $3.72B outflow to working capital (notably from a large increase in customer prepayments or other liabilities in that year that offset some receivable growth). Excluding working capital swings, NVIDIA’s underlying operating cash generation is even higher. The big picture is that NVIDIA is throwing off cash at an extraordinary rate – even after funding internal growth, operating cash flow far exceeds the company’s capital expenditure needs or debt obligations.

Investing Cash Flow: NVIDIA has been ramping up its investing activities in response to growth. In FY2025, cash flow from investing (CFI) was –$20.42B, indicating $20.4B net cash used for investments. This is a huge increase from just $1.25B used in FY2024. The breakdown shows two major uses: capital expenditures (physical assets) and acquisitions/investments. Capital expenditures (CapEx) on property and equipment were $3.24B in FY2025, triple the $1.07B spent in FY2024. This jump in CapEx aligns with NVIDIA expanding capacity: the company likely invested in data center infrastructure (for its growing cloud and AI services), labs and equipment for R&D, and possibly building out facilities to support its hardware development. Even with the increase, CapEx remains a small fraction of OCF (about 5% in FY2025), meaning NVIDIA’s business is not very capital-intensive in the traditional sense – their major “investments” are in R&D (expensed) and inventory rather than factories (TSMC bears the manufacturing capex).

The largest line in FY2025 CFI is “Acquisitions/Investments” of $14.885B. NVIDIA hasn’t publicly detailed a single large acquisition of that size during FY2025, so this likely includes multiple strategic uses of cash: possibly the completion of the arm of a prior investment, or a combination of acquisitions of smaller companies, and significant long-term investment deposits. One possibility is that NVIDIA made substantial prepayments to secure future chip supply (multi-year supply agreements), which would be recorded as an investing outflow. Another is the purchase of equity stakes or entire companies in related fields (such as AI software or networking hardware). In FY2024, a notable cash outflow of $8.59B in investments was recorded, which corresponds to the termination fee NVIDIA paid when the ARM acquisition was canceled ($1.36B) plus some other investments. So, NVIDIA has demonstrated willingness to deploy cash for strategic purposes. The $14.9B in FY2025 is quite significant – it shows NVIDIA is actively investing to strengthen or expand its ecosystem during this high-growth phase. These investments, while reducing short-term free cash flow, are aimed at securing long-term growth drivers (e.g., ensuring supply chain capacity, acquiring critical technology, or entering new markets).

Financing Cash Flow: NVIDIA’s financing cash flows in FY2025 reflect large returns to shareholders. Cash flow from financing (CFF) was –$42.36B in FY2025, meaning $42.4B net cash was paid out or used in financing activities. The biggest component is share repurchases. As noted earlier, NVIDIA spent approximately $33.22B on net common stock repurchases in FY2025, a massive increase from $9.75B the year before. This represents the company aggressively using excess cash to buy back shares, especially as profits poured in through the year. In addition, NVIDIA paid $834M in dividends in FY2025, up from $395M in FY2024 (the increase is due to a slight raise in the quarterly dividend from $0.04 to $0.05 per share post-split during 2024, and a higher share count early in the year). NVIDIA’s dividend policy remains very modest – most of the cash return is via buybacks. On the debt side, NVIDIA reduced its debt by $1.25B (net) in FY2025. The company likely paid off a portion of its outstanding notes or loans as they came due, given it had ample cash. In FY2024, NVIDIA’s financing cash flow of –$9.68B was mostly buybacks ($9.7B) with negligible debt change (they had a small net debt issuance of $281M that year, possibly related to short-term borrowings). So, the trend is that NVIDIA is actively deleveraging and returning cash to shareholders, rather than raising capital. The net effect for FY2025 was that financing outflows almost matched operating inflows, leaving just a slight increase in cash overall.

Net cash flow: After combining OCF, CFI, and CFF, NVIDIA’s net increase in cash in FY2025 was $1.31B – essentially flat, as the huge cash generation was used almost entirely for investments and buybacks. In FY2024, net cash increased by $1.87B, and FY2023 actually saw a net cash increase of $11.65B (that year NVIDIA issued debt and had minimal buybacks while cutting dividend, in response to the downturn, thus preserving cash). Now in the boom, NVIDIA has chosen to keep its cash level roughly steady by deploying surpluses. It’s a sign of a mature capital allocation approach: even in an extremely profitable year, the company did not hoard all cash, but neither did it run short – it balanced uses to end with a slight positive net cash flow. At FY2025 year-end, NVIDIA still had $43.2B in cash and equivalents as noted, plus additional liquidity in short-term investments (not fully detailed in the screenshot but likely significant). Therefore, liquidity is not an issue; the small net cash addition simply indicates efficient use of funds.

Projection Method and FY2026 Outlook:

Projecting cash flow is inherently challenging because it can be affected by timing of investments and discretionary financing moves. However, we can make a reasonable projection for Operating Cash Flow as it ties closely to profits. Using the CAGR method (FY2019–FY2025), NVIDIA’s OCF grew at 60.5% annually on average. We apply this to FY2025’s OCF to estimate FY2026 OCF around $102–105 billion. This aligns with the projected net income ($117.5B) assuming a high conversion of earnings to cash (taking into account some working capital needs and taxes). In other words, NVIDIA could realistically generate on the order of $100B+ in operating cash flow in FY2026 if our revenue and profit projections hold. This would be a YoY increase of roughly 60%, lower than the 128% growth seen in FY2025 but still extremely robust. The choice of CAGR for projecting OCF is justified by the pattern we’ve seen: over several years, NVIDIA’s cash flow grows in bursts and pauses, but averaging out yields ~60% growth, which is consistent with the idea that as long as net income grows ~61% (our projection), OCF will track it closely over the long run. In fact, OCF may even exceed net income if some working capital reverses (for instance, the big FY2025 receivables might convert to cash in early FY2026, boosting OCF). Our projection assumes working capital requirements continue to grow proportionally with the business, and no extraordinary tax or legal payouts occur.

For investing and financing cash flows, we do not forecast precise figures due to their discretionary nature. However, we can discuss expectations: In FY2026, NVIDIA is likely to continue investing heavily in its business. Using our $95B EBITDA estimate, the market is implicitly trading at EV/EBITDA ~2.8× forward, extremely low – which suggests either our EBITDA is overshooting or the market expects a short-lived earnings peak. More realistically, we consider a fair multiple for sustained EBITDA. Given Nvidia’s growth, one could argue for a premium EV/EBITDA multiple 20× or more. But in a one-year view, such a high multiple may not be used by investors if they suspect earnings could normalize downward (i.e., if current EBITDA is seen as cyclically elevated). We’ll examine a range:
  • Conservative: 10× EV/EBITDA – near industry average for a large semi company (this might be low for Nvidia’s growth, but provides a floor).
  • Moderate: 15× EV/EBITDA – a premium to peers, reflecting strong growth.
  • Aggressive: 20× EV/EBITDA – assuming the market continues to prize Nvidia’s dominance and visibility.
  • Valuation via EV/EBITDA:
  • At 10× our FY2026 EBITDA ($95B), Enterprise Value = $950B. After adding ~$35B net cash, Equity Value ≈ $985B, which is about $400 per share.
  • At 15× EBITDA, EV = $1.425 trillion; equity ≈ $1.46T; per share ≈ $590.
  • At 20× EBITDA, EV = $1.9 trillion; equity ≈ $1.93T; per share ≈ $780.

These numbers seem very high – far above current prices. Even the “conservative” 10× case gives ~$400/share, double today’s price. This indicates the market is not currently valuing Nvidia on a standard EV/EBITDA basis of sustained earnings – likely because investors worry that current EBITDA levels might not be sustained (or are already baking in a collapse in the multiple). In fact, the current implied multiple (~3×) is incredibly low, suggesting the market believes either Nvidia’s earnings will be temporary or is simply not yet pricing FY2026 EBITDA fully until it’s proven.

For a one-year target, we should temper the EV/EBITDA approach. If Nvidia continues to deliver strong EBITDA through FY2026, we expect multiple expansion from today’s implied levels. Even moving to a still-low ~8× EBITDA (reflecting some cyclical skepticism) on $95B would yield EV $760B, equity ~$795B, and share price ≈ $320. That is a theoretical outcome if the market begins to value Nvidia’s cash flows more normally. However, given the uncertainties, we wouldn’t use the 15× or 20× multiples for a one-year target – those reflect a very bullish long-term view. Instead, this method reinforces the upside potential: Nvidia appears undervalued on an EV/EBITDA basis if its earnings hold up. It suggests that, as confidence in Nvidia’s sustained EBITDA grows, the stock could rerate higher.

In summary, EV/EBITDA analysis points to substantial upside (even $300+ per share with modest multiples). For our 1-year target, we acknowledge this but will remain more conservative, as the market may continue to apply a discount until the longevity of the AI surge is clearer.

Free Cash Flow to Equity (FCFE) Valuation

The FCFE approach values the company based on cash flows directly available to shareholders (after all expenses, reinvestment, and debt service). It’s essentially an equity DCF. Given Nvidia’s strong cash generation, we perform an FCFE valuation to cross-check our results:

  • FY2026 FCFE: Starting with our projected FY2026 free cash flow to the firm ($78B), we subtract expected net debt payments and add any new borrowing. Nvidia has minimal debt and huge cash, so it doesn’t need to borrow; it also pays dividends ($0.04 per share annually, a very small amount) and has been buying back stock aggressively (over $10B/year recently). For simplicity, assume Nvidia continues returning cash via buybacks but that doesn’t affect the amount of FCFE – it’s a use of FCFE. Thus, FY2026 FCFE might be roughly $75–80B (close to FCFF since interest is small and debt changes are minor).
  • Cost of Equity: ~13% (slightly higher than WACC since no debt). We’ll use this to discount FCFE.
  • Equity Valuation: If we treat $78B as a perpetually growing cash flow, the Gordon Growth formula gives:
    Equity Value = FCFE2026 × (1+g) / (Cost of Equity – g).
    Assuming a long-term growth g = 4% for FCFE,
    Equity Value ≈ $78B × 1.04 / (0.13 – 0.04) = $81.1B / 0.09 ≈ $901B.
    This is the value at the end of 2025. Dividing by shares gives ~$364 per share. If we assume a more conservative 3% growth, value ≈ $78×1.03/(0.13–0.03) = $80.3/0.10 = $803B, or ~$324/share.

This FCFE-based value range ($324–$364) again is well above the current market price and in line with our earlier DCF-style results. It implies a huge upside if Nvidia’s current free cash flows are sustainable long-term. However, for a 1-year target, we must recognize that the market may not fully price in perpetual growth so soon. In practice, investors will wait for proof that Nvidia can maintain its cash flows and competitive edge; any sign of a slowdown or pricing pressure could reduce forward FCFE estimates.

FCFE Summary: Nvidia’s ability to generate cash for shareholders is enormous – even after investments, it’s throwing off tens of billions in excess cash (which it’s using to repurchase shares and pay a small dividend). Our FCFE valuation underscores that Nvidia’s stock has the capacity to appreciate significantly if those cash flows are capitalized at normal rates. But in the near term, much like the EV/EBITDA outcome, this suggests the stock’s current price reflects hesitation. For our 1-year outlook, we will moderate our target, while noting that FCFE supports substantial longer-term value.

Conclusion: 1-Year Target Price

We have evaluated Nvidia using four methods (DCF, P/E, EV/EBITDA, and FCFE), each highlighting a different perspective:

  • DCF (Intrinsic Value) – Emphasizes long-term cash flow potential. Our base-case DCF suggests very high intrinsic value (well above current prices, even $500+ per share in optimistic scenarios). This indicates strong long-run upside, but it assumes Nvidia continues dominating the AI semiconductor space for years to come. Given the 1-year horizon, it’s unlikely the market will immediately price in all that future growth. However, DCF establishes that downside risk is limited if Nvidia executes its growth plan, and it provides a foundation for bullish long-term expectations.
  • P/E Multiple (Relative Earnings) – Anchored in nearer-term earnings. Using expected FY2026 EPS and a justified high growth P/E, we get a target around $180–$220, with a midpoint ~$200. This method incorporates how the market tends to value similar growth and is more aligned with a 12-month view (as investors usually price stocks on next-year earnings). It reflects a balance of Nvidia’s exceptional growth and the higher interest rate environment (which caps multiples).
  • EV/EBITDA (Relative Cash Flow) – Highlights that Nvidia’s stock could be much higher if valued like other companies on EBITDA. Even using conservative multiples, the implied values are double or triple the current price. This indicates the market is skeptical that current EBITDA levels will persist. For a one-year target, it suggests potential for upside if Nvidia continues posting large profits — the market might start to value those earnings more fully, pushing the stock upward. Nonetheless, we temper this and do not take the full EBITDA-implied value at face value for 2025–2026.
  • FCFE (Shareholder Cash Flows) – Shows that Nvidia’s ability to return cash (via buybacks/dividends) is enormous relative to its price. The FCFE valuation supports a much higher stock price in theory. Again, the market in the short run may not pay for cash flows that it deems uncertain beyond the immediate horizon. But it provides confidence that Nvidia has fundamental support for a higher valuation if it maintains performance.

Final Target Price (12-month): After considering all methods, we set our one-year target price for Nvidia at approximately $200 per share. This target is most consistent with the P/E approach (which we consider the most appropriate for a 1-year outlook, given it’s tied to next year’s earnings and how the market actually values stocks in the medium term). It also represents a substantial upside (~60–70% above current levels in the $120s), but is more conservative than the pure DCF or cash-flow models which imply even greater value.

  • $200 is within the range suggested by comparables (a 25–30x multiple on FY2026 earnings). It assumes Nvidia meets high expectations for FY2026 growth and the market maintains a growth-premium valuation.
  • This price also factors in risk: We are not fully pricing the extreme outcomes from DCF/FCFE. The macro environment (higher rates, potential recession) and sector risks (e.g. new AI chip competitors, changes in tech spending) warrant some caution. A 12% WACC and a moderate earnings multiple already build in those risks. If conditions worsen (e.g. a broader market sell-off or regulatory hurdles), Nvidia’s multiple could compress toward the low end (20x or below), which would reduce the target. Conversely, if Nvidia dramatically exceeds FY2026 expectations or if interest rates fall, the stock could overshoot $200.

In summary, $200 is our base-case 1-year price target for Nvidia. This reflects confidence in Nvidia’s growth trajectory (substantial revenue and earnings expansion in FY2026) while acknowledging the risk-adjusted stance investors are likely to take over the next year. All valuation methods support the view that Nvidia is undervalued relative to its exceptional fundamentals – the degree of undervaluation depends on one’s time horizon. Over the next year, we expect the stock price to move upward toward our target as Nvidia continues to deliver strong results, with the potential for even higher valuations if the market grows more optimistic about the longevity of the AI boom.
